UNITED WAY OF GREATER TORONTO

United Way of Greater Toronto provides annual funding to support the operations and programs of registered charitable organizations in Toronto that provide services and supports to people who are homeless, children and youth, abused women and their children, newcomers, seniors, unemployed people and people with disabilities. In 2009, United Way provided funding support to 200 community service agencies to address issues related to hunger and homelessness, newcomer settlement and integration, giving young children (0-6) a healthy start, violence against women, and organizational capacity building. United Way benefits from substantial services in form of volunteer time. Over 22,700 volunteers provided their services to United Way in 2009.
